MINUTES OF THE ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

Matters arising:-B. Clearwater enquired whether N. Parkinson has reported
back to the Executive regarding any contact with Southern Organics. Answered
in the negative.
 
Finance:-   Finance report presented by J. Vosper in J. Fleming’s temporary
                   absence.
                   C. Backhouse queried research amount. J. Vosper explained
                   situation i.e. the ODPG is the financial conduit between DairyNZ,
                   the Sustainable Farming Fund, and the research projects themselves.
                   C. Backhouse enquired whether P. Bacchus is funded by the ODPG.
                   General feeling was that he could be subsidised in the future.
Discussion around Grow Organic Dairy (GOD) funding and expenditure. D. Handley
requested details. M. Pike explained that GOD finances are separate and distinct
from ODPG accounts and should remain so.
M. Pike moved that 2010 and 2011 Chairman’s Reports and Financial Reports be
posted on the website. M. Pike to liaise with E. Dijkstra with a view to attaining
the necessary computer skills to assist in this area.

Other:-       With the completion of the Grow Organic Dairy project later in the
year, coupled with a reasonably healthy balance sheet, it was decided by the
executive that support be given to the idea to engage in several workshops this
year in conjunction with Massey University. The executive also suggested to
themselves to set the ODPG subscription at a lower level. Subscription forms
to be mailed out.
 
Chairman’s Report:-     J. Vosper presented a brief oral summary of the year’s
events. This will be transposed into written form at a later date.

O.A.N.Z. :-    D. Broadmore presented OANZ update.

                    NZ falling behind in organic development  /  Funding ends 30/6/11  /    Market                              Update  /   Levy  discussion  /  Federated Farmers Link?
 
 Other :-       Due to a lack of nominations for the Executive Committee, the
Executive will continue to operate until it is replaced. There are several
on-going issues that are taking up some peoples time and we look forward to them refocusing
on grass-roots farming issues at a later date. The Executive will canvas members to help
plan for the future direction of the O.D.P.G.
